Vannappuram Grama Panchayat – Comprehensive Development Plan 2026–2027

The details of the Comprehensive Development Plan of Vannappuram Grama Panchayat for the financial year 2026–2027 are presented under the following major sectors:

 

1. 🛣️ Infrastructure Development & Roads

The development plan gives significant importance to improving transportation facilities and road infrastructure within the Panchayat.

  • Ward Development Fund: An amount of ₹7 lakh each has been earmarked for road construction and maintenance in each of the 17 wards, with a total allocation of ₹1,33,00,000 (₹1.33 crore).
  • Road Maintenance: A separate allocation of ₹1,64,66,000 (₹1.64 crore) has been provided under the Maintenance Fund (Roads).
  • Non-Road Maintenance: An amount of ₹31,21,000 has been earmarked under the Maintenance Fund (Non-Road) for the maintenance of other public infrastructure and assets.
  • Street Lighting: ₹10,00,000 has been allocated for electricity charges and maintenance of street lights within the Panchayat.

 

2. 🏠 Housing – LIFE Mission

One of the largest allocations in the development plan has been earmarked for providing housing to homeless and landless families.

  • LIFE Mission / Housing Schemes: A total of ₹6,23,80,000 (₹6.23 crore) has been allocated for housing-related projects. The objective is to ensure safe and secure housing for eligible homeless families in the Panchayat.

 

3. 🌾 Productive Sector – Agriculture & Animal Husbandry

The development plan provides substantial support to the agriculture and animal husbandry sectors in order to strengthen the rural economy.

  • Dairy Development & Animal Husbandry: ₹59,75,000 has been allocated to promote cattle rearing and support dairy farmers.
  • Agricultural Development: ₹21,50,000 has been earmarked for promoting paddy cultivation, vegetable farming and the production of other agricultural crops.

 

4. 🤝 Social Welfare & Development of Marginalised Sections

Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Development

  • Scheduled Caste Component Plan (SCP): A total of ₹46,87,000 has been allocated for the development and welfare of Scheduled Caste communities, along with a separate allocation of ₹6,00,000 for street main-related infrastructure.
  • Scheduled Tribe Component Plan (TSP): A total of ₹8,80,000 has been earmarked for the development of Scheduled Tribe communities, with an additional ₹4,00,000 allocated for street main-related infrastructure.
  • Women's Safety & Welfare: A total allocation of ₹1,20,00,000 (₹1.20 crore) has been included under the Development Fund for women's safety and various welfare initiatives for women and girls.

 

5. 👷 Employment Generation

Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS)

An amount of ₹5,30,36,852 (₹5.30 crore) has been earmarked for generating maximum employment opportunities in rural areas and for undertaking water conservation and other permissible development activities through the employment guarantee programme.

 

6. 🏥 Health & 🎓 Education

Health

An amount of ₹41,45,000 has been allocated for the development of primary healthcare facilities, the provision of medicines and the strengthening of public health services.

Education

An allocation of ₹17,70,000 has been earmarked for improving the physical infrastructure of public schools and enhancing the quality of education for children.

 

7. ⚽ Youth Welfare & Sports Development

  • Construction/Purchase of a Playground: A separate allocation of ₹30,00,000 (₹30 lakh) has been earmarked as the Panchayat's share for acquiring land and developing a new playground for sports-loving youth in Vannappuram.
  • Asset Protection: ₹3,00,000 has been allocated for the protection and maintenance of public assets under the ownership of the Panchayat.

 

8. 🌿 Environment & Disaster Management

  • Disaster Management: An amount of ₹1,00,000 has been earmarked to respond to natural disasters and other emergency situations.
  • Integrated Water Resource Management: ₹1,00,000 has been allocated for the rejuvenation, conservation and sustainable management of water resources.
